Miguel Angel Garcia Cortez, best known as Mikey Garcia, is an American professional boxer. He is a world champion in four weight classes, having held the WBC lightweight title since January 2017; previously he held the WBO and The Ring magazine featherweight titles in 2013, and the WBO junior lightweight title from 2013 to 2014. As of February 2018, Garcia is ranked as the world's sixth best active boxer, pound for pound, by The Ring; and seventh by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. He is trained by his father Eduardo and his brother, former world champion Robert Garcia. A well rounded fighter, Mikey is known as a boxer-puncher with strong fundamentals, formidable punching power, and adaptability.
